History

Legend has it that Wing Chun was invented by a woman: during the during overthrow the Shaolin Temple, a Shaolin Nun was amongst those who fled and she fine-tuned a blend of systems to form Wing Chun – it’s primary objective being to allow someone of a smaller and weaker physique to defeat another of stronger and larger build.
To achieve this, the Wing Chun style that she developed, had to be simple, direct and effective.
Wing Chun subsequently evolved in Fat Shan (southern China), and further flourished in Hong Kong.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a ‘soft’ Martial Art that originated from the Shaolin Temple in Southern China, with the single goal of defending oneself in the minimum time, using minimum energy, yet with maximum effectiveness – renowned worldwide for its simplicity, directness and effectiveness. Wing Chun at its foundation, uses practical concepts and techniques based on science, physics, and biometrics.
